BIOS INCOMPLETE, POWERFUL CAMPAIGN THAT CHANGED GOVERNMENT PLANS

The successful idea developed under the name Bios Incompletas is one of the most powerful works of Leo Burnett Costa Rica, as it shows how by working together, the people can make themselves heard.

To begin with, it should be noted that the Leo Burnett agency is recognized for its creative work, with which they have won numerous awards at various international festivals such as Cannes, New York Festival, London Festival, Fiap, Ojo de Iberoamérica, Volcán de Oro among others; their awards are possible because they have clients who let them experiment and exploit their imagination 100%.

On this occasion, for the 2014 presidential elections, the Paniamor Foundation specialized in children, noticed the lack of interest of the presidential candidates towards children, so with the help of Leo Burnett Costa Rica they decided to change somehow the proposals of the politicians to take into account this problem.

The agency decided to alter the biographies of the candidates in Wikipedia, creating a chapter called “Child protection policies” which they left blank so that they themselves could fill that space; immediately #biosincompletas was already viral in the media, so the candidates were pressured; soon after Wikipedia decided to block the profiles, but the action had already taken the whole country.

Within a month, the candidates included among their proposals different solutions to help children all over Costa Rica. Thanks to the campaign, millions of children in the country benefited, as Luis Guillermo Solís, who won the elections, contributed greatly to improving the lives of each one of them.

The Paniamor Foundation and Leo Burnett managed to give priority to a problem with the help of citizens, which shows that the power is not in the politicians, but in each one of us.
